Hachtara for Rabbi Yisroel Chaim Jankelowitz – Rosh Kollel of the Semicha chabura, at the James Street Shul.
On Thursday parshas Shelach, 23 Sivan, June 13th, Rabbi Yisroel Chaim Jankelewitz was Muchtar as Rov of the James Street Shul. The Shul has elected Rabbi Jankelewitz to be the Rov after an overwhelming majority of the kehilla has been drawn to his great character, his vast knowledge of Halacha and his many talents. It is a great simcha for the Semicha chabura and for Bais Medrash L’Torah as a whole. The hachtara was attended by the many mispallelim of the kehilla and the b’nei hachabura. Rabbi Shmuel Felder Shlit”a spoke and attested to Rabbi Jankelowitzs’ great qualities for this position. Other speakers were Rabbi Kahn of the William Street Shul where the Rov has been a mispallel for many years and the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Yisroel Goldblatt.

BML for Working Bochurim
There was a great need for a Yeshiva where working bochurim can learn with a chavrusa in the morning or evening. Bais Medrash L’Torah made that a reality by creating a setting just for them. Rabbi Moshe Aron Sonnensohn, Rabbi Zevi Mandel, Rabbi Yosef Trocki and Rabbi Chaim Goldblatt are in charge of helping them be kovea ittim l’torah, setting them up with chavrusos and helping them with anything they may need b’ruchniyos and b’gashmiyos.
If you are interested in a chavrusa or know someone that may be interested please call Rabbi Chaim Goldblatt at (732) 228-1022.
